Moving Forward
Posted by Andy on Apr 20, 2010 @ 10:24pm

Hey Bloomers!

I just want to fill you in on what we have done this week.  We have finally gotten all the mixes done.  A huge "Thank You" and "What an AWESOME Job" to Tobias Lindell in Sweden for doing our amazing mixes.  We go to have them mastered this week and hope to have the new album in your hands sooner than later.

It has also be a huge blessing to pick up the bass and join the rest of the boys in an actual practice and a couple shows this past week.  Seems like it has been forever since we have actually been out there playing and mingling with you all.  We played this past Thursday for the 102.9 The Buzz's Battle of the Bands (Thank you Tony Stone) in Murfreesboro and won the semi final round.  We will play the finals next Thursday April 29th at Lanes Trains and Automobiles (Good Time Charlie's), so please come and support us to win this thing.

We also played in the Ambassadors of Rock Battle of the Bands this week at Hard Rock Cafe.  It was some steep competition and some really great bands, however we took 3 place, so we are not advancing in that for the next week....Sad Day!

Last night we had an interview with Mike Rimmer (get over your cold quick buddy), a DJ from London who was in Nashville for some of the well known GMA week events.  He asked some very intriguing questions that most DJ interviewers have not asked before, so Thank you Mike for going outside the box a little with the question and answer time.

We also finally met with a booking agent who will be helping us plan our Summer/Fall tour dates if all goes as planned...our fingers are crossed.  Please hit us up if you have somewhere that you want us to add to the list to check out as far as venues go.

Matt has also been diligently working on some spectacular video for our new album, so get psyched about seeing some behind the scene footage from recording and just goofing off as well.

As always, we love you all very much and please please please come talk to us at our shows, on our blogs, and visit us every Monday night for Manic Monday on Ustream.com.

God Bless!

You guys should come to Michigan, preferably around the Ann Arbor area. U of M's campus would probably work out well but Eastern Michigan University also has some good venues. :)

I am psyched about the new album. Already got it on pre-order. I'm looking forward to seeing that behind-the-scenes footage y'all were talking about.

Question: I'm a new fan. Are y'all full-time musicians, or do y'all work day jobs too? I'm curious about what y'all's life is like. What's a little bit of y'all's day to day life?

A big fan,

I don't know why I used "y'all" like a zillion times. I guess you know I'm from Texas! I saw y'all at the Thirsty Nickel during SXSW. (Or, technically, Red Gorilla.)

Hey Tim, Im sure one of the guys will get back to you soon. But in the mean time I will answer your question. Firstly, I am Manic Bloom's sound guy, to clear up who in the world this guy is answering your questions. Sadly, they are not full time musicians, yet. Everyone in the band has a day job, except Brink, he is in school full time. Hildee - Lead Chemist for a company called puresmoke, Matt - Financial Analyst for CHD Meridian, David - Web Developer for some company(sorry david i dont know the company), Andy - Personal Trainer at YMCA.  So everyone's average day is real work, and then music "work" a few nights a week.

Oh, and 3 of they guys in Manic Bloom + I are from Texas, so we are right with ya on the yalls. I use it probably every other sentence when talking to more than one person.

Sorry for taking so long to respond, Tim!

Unfortunately, as Giga said, we are not full time musicians...  The typical Manic Bloomer day is getting up, going to work (or school, for Brink), and then either practicing for a few hours before going to sleep, or just working on the various things that need to get done (like recording/web stuff/booking/video stuff/etc).  We don't let a little thing like time get in our way, though!

We're happy to say that we just teamed up with a company called Fastrax for our booking, and another company called Velvet Farm for digital distribution and general marketing help.  Hopefully now that we're connected with them, we'll soon be able to make music our job!

And just so it's out there - the only way we're able to do what we do is because of the people that listen to us!  Thanks!

It's just a matter of time, guys! It'll be like, "Pearl Jam who? It's the hour of Manic Bloom!"
